Howdy all,
I'm currently reading an excellent classic "Mysticism" written by Evelyn Underhill in 1911. It has a predominantly christian historical focus and is extremely well written even if the prose is a little archaic. If anyone poo-poos the christian mystics remember that the term Dark Night of the Soul was first coined by Juan de la Cruz, a christian monk.
The chapter on just that topic is excellent and describe the same phenomena many of us know all too well. For myself, these paralells and timeless connections provide inspiration when facing adversity, internal or external.
It can be found
here in PDF or Ebook Format but I already prize my portable paperback.
Cheers all.
