It is said the path to enlightenment is 'wisdom' (16 nanas);
in contrast, Ven. Dhammavuddho holds that enlightenment is (described in the Suttas as) the destruction of the asavas (uncontrolled mental outflows; flow of consciousness);
yet meditation teachers never talk about the asavas.
