Working with sensations in the head

Does anyone here have any experience with observing sensations in the head area? Is it a 'safe' area to work with, or is it 'volatile' like some people say the chest is - a repository for numerous defilements?

Hi -

I sat with those sensations. I do not explore them (not expand or contract them). I have not had any for a couple of weeks, but whether the sensation was at the forehead, "ironskull" (octopus on head, in my lingo), medulla area or seemingly under parietal plates, I just sit with them.

Best wishes to you in your practice.

All sensations are safe to observe, no matter where they reside. You can even observe sensations inside your head (or anywhere inside the body or on the surface of the body), but since there are no sensory receptors inside the head, these sensations are created directly by the central nervous system. The mind creates your world.
