third eye pressure/sensation

Hello,

hope this is in the right forum. I'm frequently feeling sensations in the centre of my forehead roughly where you would say 'the third eye' is, as i'm typing this I can feel a mild tingling there. while meditating its escalated to an almost painful pressure when I've focused on it.

I've never really looked into/been interested in/believed in chakras or any other third eye stuff... anyone have any ideas on what it might be? whether I should try focusing on it during meditation? Any similiar experiences or suggestions?

Thanks!

Scott

Yeah... play with it, explore it!

For example, imagine the breath going in and out through it (or through the eyes). Relax with each in- and out-breath as it makes its imaginary passage through that spot.

Or, focus elsewhere, such as the breath at the back of the throat, and see what happens with the third eye tingling/pressure.

Cheers,
Florian

Relax - relax with each in-breath, relax with each out-breath. If it's tense and painful, it might be that you're straining too much, bearing down too much on that spot. In that case, use a different spot to focus on.

I really like to imagine breathing through the eyes. This somehow relaxes all kinds of muscles and tensions in the eye/nose/forehead region.

Cheers,
Florian

Interesting. (about breathing through the eyes) I stick with the nose based off a couple of books, i've been wary of moving away from the nose as I'm still a beginner really but maybe I'll give it a go.
