Read this
news at BBC website. The following sentence caught my attention:
"The same study found that MdDS was a disorder of brain plasticity, which means that the neural pathways in the brain are unable to change in response to changes in behaviour or environment."
Now I have also read that meditators who have the most difficult time in life before starting meditation also get the most beneficial result afterwards. This made me think if it is because of the less brain plasticity in some people that makes them more susceptible to having difficult time in life before (because of their mind's tendency to just stick with certain mind states) and then reaping more rewards after? That their brain just latches on to whatever exotic state of mind they can get to (although after putting in a lot of time and effort) and then it tends to stay there?
