It Should make a very large important disclaimer at the start of the
Impossi-tune-totaling-Self-ID-Is-history-Muses-Music-Thread-and Never Noise:

Muses and Music only take you so far down the highway

It had to go into silent running and solitary confinement to do it's work for a longish time, just like some of you, for a long time.
Put in a lot of 'mat time' over the 15 years past and it was very silent indeed much of the time.

I'm on a break, ok? Having too much of a nice time with my M+D, too much to care for fathoming the deeps right now. I won't have the time and they won't either, to be with each other too much longer. I'm 'chillin' my meditation gears out for now and more into attempting people-ish stuff.

Ordinarily my practice is "No People, No Pets, No Problems." So, you are not going to be suffering me for too long in any case, may as well enjoy it while you can, I'll have even less reason 'to exist' when the near and dear "move on".

So yeah, if the last thing you need running circles on cycles in your head is a wicked good pop song then stay the heck away from this thread. If you are cool with it and that stuff doesn't leave any impression on you because you are so hardcore to the core then great jump in with your Demon Thrash Metal Tibetan Orchestral Music or whatever.

Shucks, that reminds me, MahaVishnu Orchestra! How could I forget them!

I bean thinking I might just toss in a bunch of cool quotations from books and some pics as well, well we'll see,,,,,,...... ... .. .

THE SOUL TRAIN AND THE LONG MARCH

Introduction

This presentation is at best, at present, in a form that might be characterized as predominantly Chaotic. Bringing any kind of a comprehensible Order to such chaos, is at least in some senses a kind of a practical work. However when One has Mastered any such Chaos one may, in so doing Be Fully and Entirely At Rest, At Ease and Satisfied in the Truth, Knowledge and Understanding of such Work and Confident, that at the very least only Playful Performance Remains of Such A Ones Desires, Hopes, and Dreams.

So, please expect any such order to come to this thread, or any other of my threads, if ever, to only near completion over some expanse of time. I am so far, enjoying these practices. It is my hope that in so doing no one else is harmed or disadvantaged in any ways. Any others, so like minded, are entirely welcome to join with me in this work and playful practice or any like minded performance.

I would like to thank everyone for the cool and refreshing, warm and enthusiastic welcomes I have received upon reprising within this virtual and virtuous time and space known as the DhO. Were I to in anyway(s) modify its sign or nature it is only in in an effort to simply the DhO to DO.

I have lived and live in a cooler place in space much of the time and any free heat is always a bargain. As for the cool I am well acquainted, as some perhaps even here may already well understand. As such, I welcome all the warmth, your oh so similar and or oh so different voices also bring and share with my heart and my mind.

Since participating in our conversations, discourses and even on occasions a very few debates thus far, I have had some time to consider and reflect on some of the emergent themes. Note well, good friends and fellows the many imperfections of my thoughts, speech and actions thus far and any clarity and directness, rightness and truth, such as these may also so contain and represent. For I have much work yet before me, to be so done, before any of this is completed, be it here and now, or similarly elsewhere at another time and space.

It is my sense, that any path, be it golden, white or black, blue, red or green, has many consistencies, in it's truths, it's names and it's forms. Some being of the mind and its heart, some of the body and its heart. Such as these be then, they have their Norths, and their Souths, their compasses and cathedrals for such arts and sciences.

Many of these, these triple enfolding and unfolding threads, which I have initiated here at the DhO, change and DO continue to change. The triple-threads variously approach the arts and sciences of these our various minds, and the languages of these hearts of our innumerable and many universes, both without and within, in as many different forms and shapes, and with as many different signs and names.

As such, in all of this, I must easily confess, I am not yet perfected and complete, and in my knowledge and understanding of all such forms and most particularly all of these changing manifold forms (as)signs. I count myself among the least in assigning names to the forms I perceive. So with all due humility I beg you will forgive me my very many past, present and future errors, in all of these respects. In mind and heart, and in form and name, it is my sense that the Truth is so consistent and remarkable, and so Perfected and Complete in every way, it has struck me deeply and to the very heart of my beings.

In the many such and very similar conceits as do remain, I shake and tremble, in the same such ways, all of the ways within and all of the ways without that one may do so and remain so, as such. So shall I continue on, until at last, within and without, in whatever time and space, this Truth both within and without me Is At Rest, Made Perfect and Complete, in these same and in every sense that must be so known and understood, and in whatever other ways it's metamorphosis must flower in its Wisdom and in its Understanding.

So, it is in this, the great Compassion of the Noble Truth, and in the business of its most Wise and wearisome Ways, that I shall continue to cooperate in its perfection of this, as such. Thus Kamma is both the smallest and greatest of these many Noble Truths; in heart and mind, name and form, and yet the anxieties and agitations and conceits of kamma which are still within me and upon me so too do remain as such.

This thread is more to the arts, as is so often the case, within the metaphoric senses, and the metamorphic processes of the Noble Truth's consistencies, without and within, and it links to the related knowledges and understandings of these arts and sciences, such this as pertains to life and living, and most particularly in it's more poetic and musical forms, such as these may also be so found, so mourned and so celebrated.

Many may have noticed by now that I do not live in a constant 'bliss state' and that I have a full range of emotional responses. It is my sense that these are important aspects of human nature and that all forms of displeasure and discomfort are important and necessary parts of out being and becoming. I don't know if these go away when all kamma making but I do think that they are necessary and vital parts of being and becoming that must be there to signal us and sign us to knowledge and understanding.

It isn't what we feel that is important, it is what we DO about what we feel that is the driver of all Change.

Respect the Truth of your Being and Becoming and that of all other beings and becomings.

If we think of Us as Us and respect Us the earth will sing for all of Us again.

Peace Flowers Forth into Wisdom and Liberation.

As Art and Science

Nobody Home

"Alright, I'll take care of them part of the time, but there's somebody else that needs taking care of in Washington"
"Who's that?"
"Rose Pilchitt!"
"Rose Pilchitt? Who's that?"
[Kid screams in background. foreground: "Shut Up!"]
"36-24-36 [laughter] does that answer your question?"
[foreground: "Oi! I've got a little black book with me poems in!"]
"Who's she?"
"She was 'Miss Armoured Division' in 1961 ... "

I've got a little black book with my poems in.
Got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in.
When I'm a good dog, they sometimes throw me a bone in.

I got elastic bands keepin my shoes on.
Got those swollen hand blues.
Got thirteen channels of shit on the T.V. to choose from.
I've got electric light.
And I've got second sight.
And amazing powers of observation.
And that is how I know
When I try to get through
On the telephone to you
There'll be nobody home.

I've got the obligatory Hendrix perm.
And the inevitable pinhole burns
All down the front of my favorite satin shirt.
I've got nicotine stains on my fingers.
I've got a silver spoon on a chain.
I've got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains.

I've got wild staring eyes.
And I've got a strong urge to fly.
But I got nowhere to fly to.
Ooooh, Babe when I pick up the phone

"Surprise, surprise, surprise..." (from Gomer Pyle show)

There's still nobody home.

I've got a pair of Gohills boots
and I got fading roots.

"Where the hell are you?"
"Over 47 german planes were destroyed with the loss of only 15 of our own aircraft"
"Where the hell are you Simon?"
[Machine gun sound, followed by plane crashing]

- Pink Floyd (- Roger Waters) 3:25

De do do do de da da da

Don't think me unkind
Words are hard to find
They're only cheques I've left unsigned
From the banks of chaos in my mind
And when their eloquence escapes me
Their logic ties me up and rapes me

De do do do de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true

Poets priests and politicians
Have words to thank for their positions
Words that scream for your submission
And no-one's jamming their transmission
'Cos when their eloquence escapes you
Their logic ties you up and rapes you

De do do do de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true

Both Sides

Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

Oh but now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they tell me that I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

Circle Game

Yesterday, a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star

And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Then, the child moved ten times 'round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, "When you're older", must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams

And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town
And they tell him, "Take your time. It won't be long now.
'Til you drag your feet to slow the circles down"

And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through.

And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and 'round and 'round
In the circle game
And go 'round and 'round and 'round in the circle game.

-Joni Mitchell

Signs

And the sign said, "Long-haired freaky people need not apply
"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why

He said, "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
"
So I took off my hat, I said, "Imagine that, huh, me workin' for you
"
Whoa, oh, oh
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign

Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind

Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?
And the sign said, Anybody caught trespassin' would be shot on sight

So, I jumped on the fence and-a yelled at the house

"Hey, what gives you the right?

To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in

If God was here, He'd tell you to your face, man, you're some kinda sinner"
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign

Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind

Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?
Now, hey you, Mister, can't you read?

You've got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat

You can't even watch, no you can't eat

You ain't supposed to be here

The sign said, You got to have a membership card to get inside, ugh
And the sign said, "Everybody welcome, come in, kneel down and pray
"
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all
I didn't have a penny to pay

So, I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said,
"Thank you, Lord, for thinkin' 'bout me, I'm alive and doin' fine, woo
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind

Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Sign
Sign, sign

I'm ready
I'm ready for what's next
I'm ready to duck
I'm ready to dive
I'm ready to say
I'm glad to be alive
I'm ready
I'm ready for the push

In the cool of the night
In the warmth of the breeze
I'll be crawling around
On my hands and knees

She's Just down the line...Zoo Station
Got to make it on time...Zoo Station

I'm ready
I'm ready for the gridlock
I'm ready
To take it to the street
I'm ready for the shuffle
Ready for the deal
Ready to let go of the steering wheel
I'm ready
Ready for the crush

She's just down the line... Zoo Station
Got to make it on time... Zoo Station

Alright, alright, alright, alright, alright
It's alright... it's alright... it's alright... It's alright

Hey baby... hey baby... hey baby... hey baby...
It's alright, it's alright

(Alright, you can turn it up)

Time is a train
Makes the future the past
Leaves you standing in the station
Your face pressed up against the glass

I'm just down the line from your love... Zoo Station
You know I'm under the sign... Zoo Station
I've got to make it on time
Make it on time... Zoo Station
I'm gonna be there... Zoo Station
Tracing the line... Zoo Station
That's alright... Zoo Station
Just two stops down the line... Zoo Station
Just a stop down the line...

The Soul Cages

The boy child is locked in the fisherman's yard
There's a bloodless moon where the ocean died
A shoal of nightstars hang fire in the nets
And the chaos of cages where the crayfish lie

Where is the fisherman, where is the goat?
Where is the keeper in his carrion coat?
Eclipse on the moon when the dark bird flies
Where is the child with his father's eyes?

There are the soul cages
These are the soul cages

He's the king of the ninth world
The twisted son of the fog bells toll
In each and every lobster cage
A tortured human soul

These are the souls of broken factories
The subject slaves of the broken crown
The dead accounting of old guilty promises
These are the souls of the broken town

These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages

'I have a wager' the brave child spoke
The fisherman laughed, though disturbed at the joke
'You will drink what I drink but you must equal me
And if the drink leaves me standing,
A soul shall go free'

'I have here a cask of most magical wine
A vintage that blessed every ship in the line
It's wrung from the blood of the sailor's who died
Young white bodies adrift in the tide'

'And what's in it for me my pretty young thing?
Why should I whistle, when the caged bird sings?
If you lose a wager with the king of the sea
You'll spend the rest of forever in the cage with me'

These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages

A body lies open in the fisherman's yard
Like the side of a ship where the iceberg rips
One less soul in the soul cages
One last curse on the fisherman's lips

These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages
These are the soul cages

Swim to the light Swim to the light

He dreamed of the ship on the sea
It would carry his father and he
To a place they could never be found
To a place far away from this town
A Newcastle ship without coals
They would sail to the island of souls

Take Me to the River

Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me to the river, drop me in the water, water
I don't know why I love her like I do
All the trouble that you put me through
Take my money, my cigarettes
I haven't seen the worst of it yet
I wanna know, can you'll tell me?
I love to stay
Take me to the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water)
Dip me in the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water, water)

I don't know why you treat me so bad
Think of all the things that we could have had
Love is an ocean, I can't forget
My sweet sixteen I would never regret
I wanna know, can you'll tell me?
I love to stay
Take me to the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water)
Dip in to the river (Take me to the river), push me in the water (Drop me in the water, water)
Hold me, squeeze me, love me, tease me
'Till I can, 'till I can, I can't tell
Come on and take me to the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water)
Dip in to the river (Take me to the river), push me in the water (Drop me in the water, water)
(Get down Jerry, get down Jerry)
(Good to go, get ready)
(Are you ready Annabelle?)
(Come on lets go)
I don't know why I love you like I do
All the changes that you put me through
Sixteen candles there on my wall
And I commin' on the biggest fool of them all
I wanna know can you'll tell me
I love to stay
Take me to the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water)
Dip me in the river (Take me to the river), drop me in the water (Drop me in the water, water)
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water, water
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water, water
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water, water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water, water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water
Take me in the river, drop me in the water, water

Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.

Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom,
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger,
You legend, you martyr, and shine!

You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter,
You piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph,
And sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine!

Fallen Angel

Are you out there
Can you hear me
Can you see me in the dark
I don't believe it's all for nothing
It's not just written in the sand
Sometimes I thought you felt too much
And you crossed into the shadowland
And the river was overflowing
And the sky was fiery red
You gotta play the hand that's dealt ya
That's what the old man always said
Fallen Angel
Casts a shadow up against the sun
If my eyes could see
The spirit of the chosen one
In my dream the pipes were playing
In my dream I lost a friend
Come down Gabriel and blow your horn
'Cause some day we will meet again
Fallen Angel
Casts a shadow up against the sun
If my eyes could see
The spirit of the chosen one
All the tears
All the rage
All the blues in the night
If my eyes could see
You kneeling in the silver light
Fallin', fallin', fallin' down
Fallin', fallin' down
Fallin', fallin', fallin' down
Fallin', fallin' down
Fallen Angel
Casts a shadow up against the sun
If my eyes could see
The spirit of the chosen one
All the tears
All the rage
All the blues in the night
If my eyes could see
You kneeling in the silver light
If you're out there can you touch me
Can you see me I don't know
If you're out there can you reach me
Lay a flower in the snow

Secret World

I stood in this sun sheltered place
'Til I could see the face behind the face
All that had gone before had left no trace

Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
All the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

So I watch you wash your hair
Underwater, unaware
And the plane flies through the air
Did you think you didn't have to choose it
That I alone could win or lose it
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

In this house of make believe
Divided in two, like Adam and Eve
You put out and I receive

Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

Oh the wheel is turning spinning round and round
And the house is crubling but the stairways stand

With no guilt and no shame, no sorrow or blame
Whatever it is, we are all the same

Making it up in our secret world [x3]
Shaking it up
Breaking it up
Making it up in our secret world

Seeing things that were not there
On a wing on a prayer
In this state of disrepair

Shh, listen...

An ongoing, improbable and impossible task, and with as much anxiety, agitation and conceit, weariness and excitement, that accompanies this then, this thread will attempt to at the very least bring a similarly appropriate shape and form and with this a sense of some order, as mutable and shifting as this may so be in any ways and forms that this playful endeavor(s) may remain and so continue.

Thx

hi Psi Phi

Great choice of handle, btw. I've always had some interest and appreciation for Psychological and Philosophical Studies, and Speculative, Fantastic and Science Fictions.

I've modified your list of specific contributions, for the purposes of this thread, into an order which more closely reflects any familiarity with these compositions, and any of the relative merits of such works, as I have also welcomed and appreciated this work within my own limited lifetime.

This thread shall most likely remain, an ever mutable, open and expansive thread, I doubt I could ever 'hear it all'. I have friends who have assembled vast and extensive collections of music, much of which they do not expect to ever have time to hear even once within the likely limits of their own lifetimes.

When I have the opportunity I will consider your suggestions as fully and completely as is possible. Where these might be appropriate for me to continue to consider, optimally in some more appropriate order in relation to the others here presented. In so doing to give ever more pleasing form and shape to this thread and its changing nature. I think there are only two or three of these selections with which I am unfamiliar already. I appreciate your interest and help with this bit of playful expression of these reflections upon these forms and these ever moving arts and parts.

I always appreciate an introduction to other masterful and accomplished works, old and new. Many of which I continue nad so might remain ignorant and oblivious. Most particularly the specific works which others feel are valuable to be aware of and more familiar.

I am only a dreamer, if that, so thank you for offering these hopes and dreams.

Thank you.

INTERLUDE FOR A SENSE-LESS WORLD

One World (Not Three)

One world is enough, for all of us
One world is enough, for all of us

It's a subject we rarely mention
But when we do we have this little invention
By pretending they're a different world from me
I show my responsibility
One world is enough, for all of us
One world is enough, for all of us

The third world breathes our air tomorrow
We live on the time we borrow
In our world there's no time for sorrow
In their world there is no tomorrow
One world is enough, for all of us
One world is enough, for all of us

Lines are drawn upon the world
Before we get our flags unfurled
Whichever one we pick
It's just a self deluding trick
One world is enough, for all of us
One world is enough, for all of us

I don't want to bring a sour note
Remember this before you vote
We can all sink or we all float
'Cause we're all in the same big boat

One world is enough for all of us
One world is enough for all of us
One world is enough for all of us
One world is enough for all of us

It may seem a million miles away
But it gets a little closer everyday
It may seem a million miles away
But it gets a little closer everyday

I say Love is a Seventh Wave
One world is enough for all of us
I say Love is a Seventh Wave
One world is enough for all of us

- Sting (Bring on the Night)

Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

When you're down and they're counting
When your secrets all found out
When your troubles take to mounting
When the map you have leads you to doubt
When there's no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

When the doctors failed to heal you
When no medicine chest can make you well
When no counsel leads to comfort
When there are no more lies they can tell
No more useless information
And the compass spins
The compass spins between heaven and hell

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

And your eyes turn towards the window pane
To the lights upon the hill
The distance seems so strange to you now
And the dark room seems so still

Let your pain be my sorrow
Let your tears be my tears too
Let your courage be my model
That the north you find will be true
When there's no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
Let your soul guide you
Let your soul guide you upon your way...

I was Brought to My Senses

You could say I lost my faith in science and progress
You could say I lost my belief in the holy church
You could say I lost my sense of direction
You could say all of this and worse but

If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do

Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the people on TV
You could say I'd lost my belief in our politicians
They all seemed like game show hosts to me

If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do

I could be lost inside their lies without a trace
But every time I close my eyes I see your face

I never saw no miracle of science
That didn't go from a blessing to a curse
I never saw no military solution
That didn't always end up as something worse but
Let me say this first

If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do

Come Talk to Me

The wretched desert takes it's form, the jackal proud and tight
In search of you, I feel my way, though the slowest heaving night
Whatever fear invents, I swear it make no sense
I reach through the border fence
Come down, come talk to me

In the swirling, curling storm of desire un-uttered words hold fast
With reptile tongue, the lightning lashes towers built to last
Darkness creeps in like a thief and offers no relief
Why are you shaking like a leaf
Come on, come talk to me

Ah please talk to me
Won't you please talk to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come talk to me

I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can't you show me how you feel now
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me

The earthly power sucks shadowed milk from sleepy tears undone
From nipple-ed skin as smooth as silk the bugles blown as one
You lie there with your eyes half closed like there's no-one there at all
There's a tension pulling on your face
Come on, come talk to me

Won't you please talk to me
If you'd just talk to me
Unblock this misery
If you'd only talk to me

Don't you ever change your mind
Now your future's so defined
And you act so deaf and blind
(And you act so deaf so blind)
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me

I can imagine the moment
Breaking out through the silence
All the things that we both might say
And the heart it will not be denied
'Til we're both on the same damn side
All the barriers blown away

I said please talk to me
Won't you please come talk to me
Just like it used to be
Come on, come talk to me
I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can you show me how you feel now
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me

I said please talk to me
If you'd just talk to me
Unblock this misery
If you'd only talk to me

Epilogue (Nothing 'Bout Me)

Lay my head on the surgeon's table
Take me fingerprints if you are able
Pick my brains, pick my pockets
Steal my eyeballs and come back for the sockets
Run every kind of test from A to Z
And you'll still know nothing 'bout me

Run my name through your computer
Mention me in passing to your college tutor
Check my records, check my facts
Check if I paid my income tax
Pore over everything in my C.V.
But you'll still know nothing 'bout me
You'll still know nothing 'bout me

You don't need to read no books on my history
I'm a simple man, it's no big mystery
In the cold weather, a hand needs a glove
At times like this, a lonely man like me needs love

Search my house with a fine tooth comb
Turn over everything 'cause I won't be at home
Set up your microscope and tell me what you see
You'll still know nothing 'bout me

hi Dr. No
Nice Picks.

You can keep 'tweaking' that post and others all you like, that's what this thread is for, a giant creative mash-up.

I know exactly what you mean about that fog. Just "Let It Be" (The Beatles).
Like the strings inside you just don't ring anymore or only make a dull muffled sound?

I had that enthusiasm for music just turn totally flat about 20 years ago just as my move from amateur to professional music making was starting to move.

I'm not the only one, the Abbot ( 20+ years in the robes ) of one of my favorite forest monasteries was a professional classical guitarist of some renowned told me that he thought it felt like "one day the horse just died right under him."

I think when you begin to look into all of the names and forms that move you more closely it starts to create a bit of a dilemma...

Part of me wanted to break out to the outside and just start reacting really fiercely like more than even other people do so I could just BE! Someone, anyone, at all. Be Seen, Be Known, all of that.

But all of it looked very hollow to me at the same time, very, very empty.

I mused on it for a long time. I could see that at one end of the pendulum was my passion and at the other end was my compassion and it was swinging limply over the middle which was just a flat place it went over in the middle.

That flat place is not to be feared, it is pretty close to equanimity and it is when the mind is clear.

I decided I preferred the calm and stillness for investigating and discovering what I was and that this was what I wanted to do with my time from then on. So I set the strings and keys down and just walked away for hmmmm, 20 years or more. Didn't even turn on the radio in the car much except on very long drives.

Over time the silence crept in, became my best friend, a comforter, a wise and admirable companion.

A few years ago I started to listen to a few tracks, plucked a few strings, I started to see that even though I wasn't "moved" and that nothing inside was really responding like it used to, that I still had my appreciation and joy (mudita) for sounds and words and all of it.

Some very interesting choices, I look forward to czeck-ing them out. Thanks.

In the crisp air of the morning, I had one or two more reflections you might find helpful. Having also been in the down lows more than a time or two.

After some time, alone on the inside of U, when you are at last still, lift your eyes up and gaze out of that stillness in wonder at all that is about Us and above Us. Unless we are of the wonder that comprehends all we have seen within and without, then are also a part of this great wonder that is also such as this.

Dog & Butterfly

There I was with the old man
Stranded again so off I'd ran
A young world crashing around me
No possibilities of getting what I need
He looked at me and smiled
Said "No, no, no, no, no child

See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly."
Dog and butterfly
Below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground, laughing
She don't know why, she don't know why
Dog and butterfly

Well I stumbled upon your secret place
Safe in the trees you had tears on your face
Wrestling with your desires frozen strangers
Stealing your fires, the message hit my mind
Only words that I could find

See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground
Laughing to the sky, up to the sky
Dog and butterfly

We're getting older the world's getting colder
For the life of me I don't know the reason why
Maybe it's livin' making us give in
Hearts rolling in taken back on the tide
We're balanced together ocean upon the sky

Another night in this strange town
Moonlight holding me light as down
Voice of confusion inside of me
No begging to go back where I'm free
Feels like I'm through
Then the old man's words are true

See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly, below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground
With a little tear in her eye
She had to try, she had to try
Dog and butterfly

All The Diamonds

All the diamonds in this world
That mean anything to me
Are conjured up by wind and sunlight
Sparkling on the sea

I ran aground in a harbour town
Lost the taste for being free
Thank God He sent some gull-chased ship
To carry me to sea

Two thousand years and half a world away
Dying trees still grow greener when you pray

Silver scales flash bright and fade
In reeds along the shore
Like a pearl in sea of liquid jade
His ship comes shining
Like a crystal swan in a sky of suns
His ship comes shining.

Indian Classical has a more pronounced deeper dimension to it. It's like a story unfolding in a much subtler dimension. In India, art forms have been developed as a spiritual process, embedding a higher possibility. Classical music was like that and even today the essence is still there. When I did feel that stuff more, the sounds and whatever was happening along felt divine. I cannot add much more at this time.

Also try : Bikram Ghosh - Tandav

I know exactly what you mean about that fog. Just "Let It Be" (The Beatles).

Just what I need, thx Mr T.

Like the strings inside you just don't ring anymore or only make a dull muffled sound?

Exactly.

I had that enthusiasm for music just turn totally flat about 20 years ago just as my move from amateur to professional music making was starting to move.

Interestingly, I too wanted to produce music. I started a thread ranting about this some months ago. I bought some equipment just before my first "retreat" and things kinda drained out from there in the music department. I was 20 then.

"one day the horse just died right under him."

But all of it looked very hollow to me at the same time, very, very empty.

I also started another thread complaining about this hollowness. As if the sap is gone and the bark is left, or colors have faded into black, white & grainy. Things have definitely improved in the more recent past and I'm just content and trying to accept things the way they want to be.

That flat place is not to be feared, it is pretty close to equanimity and it is when the mind is clear.
I've been there. It was a pleasant stay. Once I returned back to society it faded away because I was still/am still swinging.

So I set the strings and keys down and just walked away for hmmmm, 20 years or more.

That's almost as much as my present life time ! Somewhere deep down, I know I want to, but I dont know if I really have the choice. There's so many commitments to fulfill, egos to please, karmas to extinguish, duties to fulfill and so on.

Thanks for everything. Will check as time goes by. I like what you did in the other thread.

Going with the flowz.

Keep birding,

Mr No.

Say its possible - Terra Naomi

I see the lights are turning and I look outside
The stars are burning through this changing time
It could have been anything we want
It's fine, salvation was just a passing thought
It was just a passing thought

Don't wait, act now
This amazing offer won't last long
It's only a chance to save the path we're on
I know there are more exciting things to talk about
And in time we'll sort it out
And in time we'll sort it out

And though they say it's possible
To me, I don't see how it's probable
I see the course we're on spinning farther
From what I know I'll hold on
Tell me that you won't let go
Tell me that you won't let go

And the truth is such a funny thing
With all these people keep on telling me
They know what's best and what to be frightened of
And all the rest are wrong
They know nothing about us
They know nothing about us

And though they say it's possible
To me, I don't see how it's probable
I see the course we're on spinning farther
From what I know, I'll hold on
Tell me that you won't let go
Tell me that you won't let go

I'm not alright

And though they say it's possible
To me, I don't see how it's probable
I see the course we're on spinning farther
From what I know I'll hold on
Tell me that you won't let go

And though they say it's possible
To me, I don't see how it's probable
I see the course we're on spinning farther
From what I know I'll hold on
Tell me that you won't let go
Tell me that you won't let go

This could be something beautiful
Combine our love into something wonderful
But times are tough I know
And the pull of what we can't give up takes hold

Yellow

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.

I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow".

So then I took my turn,
Oh what the things have done,
And it was all yellow.

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into
Something beautiful,
You know,
You know I love you so,
You know I love you so.

I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
'Cause you were all yellow,

I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all yellow.

Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into
Something beautiful,
And you know,
For you I'd bleed myself dry,
For you I'd bleed myself dry.

It's true,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

In My Place

In my place, in my place
Were lines that I couldn't change
I was lost, oh yeah

I was lost, I was lost
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed
I was lost, oh yeah

Yeah how long must you wait for it?
Yeah how long must you pay for it?
Yeah how long must you wait for it?
Oh for it

I Feel It All Lyrics

I Feel It All
I feel it all, I feel it all
I feel it all, I feel it all
The wings are wide, the wings are wide
Wild card in sight, wild card in sight

Ooh I’ll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one to hope

Can I know more than I knew before
I know more than I knew before
I didn't rest, I didn't stop
Did we fight or did we talk

Ooh I’ll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one to hope

Can I love you more
I love you more
I don't know what I knew before
But now I know I want to win the war

No one likes to take a test
Sometimes we don't pull or flex
Put your weight against the door
Kick-drum on the basement floor
Stranded in the thought of woods
Looking like the winter bird
On my head the water pours
Cops stream through the open door
Fly away
Fly away the one who want to make
Ooh hohohohohohohoho

I feel it all, I feel it all
I feel it all, I feel it all
The wings are wide
The wings are wide
Wild card in sight, wild card in sight

Oh I’ll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll be the one who'll break my heart
I'll end it, though you started it
The truth, the lies, look at me gather
The truth, the lies, now I want to know
The truth, the lies, the last to life,
The truth, the lies, the last to life,
Doin' it doesn't mean gettin'
The last to life
ha ha ha oh oh oh hope

Some of the recent Dirt: Four Element Meditations, Fake Food and Real Corpses

Received a Wormy Apple in my stocking w/ itunez 11.1.3 (8). Has a nasty hiccup every 3-5 seconds that is kicking the shit out of my audio gear. Thanks for nothing Merc's Blast Perforated Corpse! I suppose it's off to the Genius Factory then, to see if perhaps the laptop's preamp has blown a micro capacitor and it's time for an entirely new motherboard. Sigh. Itunes is simply breaking down entirely anyhow, oh how I miss OSX Aqua. A return to vinyl on my part is long overdue in any case.

Ok, just a minute… now I see they are erasing tracks that I've loaded from my CDs..
ok Apple, you are finished, your worm is through to the other side… I can see daylight. Think I will go with tubes and a turntable. A.M. all the way. No doubt. Way past time.

[ Ok, sorry crapple, this hiccuping audio issue has since proven to be an artifact of the laptop somehow being routed continually through a remote server somewhere, not sure why, just seems to be necessary for some reason... (this stuff really slows everything down on this terminal end, very odd, all things considered... )

If someone knows how I can exorcise the spooks let me know, cuz' I haven't had any luck anyways yet and don't care to move to anonymous net IDs or to beyond the coming century level encryption strategies. ]

a gift of water

On the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, Monira Asham Ibrahim has clean water coming into her home through an MCC - supported project of BLESS, a service arm of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Ibrahim and others say they are sick less often now that they have access to clean water at home.

Digging in the Dirt

Something in me, dark and sticky
All the time it's getting strong
No way of dealing with this feeling
Can't go on like this too long

[Chorus:]
This time you've gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]
This time you've gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]

Don't talk back
Just drive the car
Shut your mouth
I know what you are
Don't say nothing
Keep your hands on the wheel
Don't turn around
This is for real
Digging in the dirt
Stay with me, I need support
I'm digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
Open up the places I got hurt

The more I look, the more I find
As I close on in, I get so blind
I feel it in my head, I feel it in my toes
I feel it in my sex, that's the place it goes

[Chorus]

I'm digging in the dirt
Stay with me I need support
I'm digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
To open up the places I got hurt

Digging in the dirt
To find the places we got hurt
[x7]

Zooropa

(What do you want?)
(What do you want?)

Zooropa...vorsprung durch technik
Zooropa...be all that you can be
Be a winner
Eat to get slimmer

Zooropa...a bluer kind of white
Zooropa...it could be yours tonight
We're mild and green
And squeaky clean

Zooropa...better by design
Zooropa...fly the friendly skies
Through appliance of science
We've got that ring of confidence

And I have no compass
And I have no map
And I have no reasons
No reasons to get back

And I have no religion
And I don't know what's what
And I don't know the limit
The limit of what we've got

Don't worry baby, it'll be alright
You got the right shoes
To get you through the night
It's cold outside, but brightly lit
Skip the subway
Let's go to the overground
Get your head out of the mud baby
Put flowers in the mud baby
Overground

No particular place names
No particular song
I've been hiding
What am I hiding from

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be alright
Uncertainty can be a guiding light
I hear voices, ridiculous voices
Out in the slipstream
Let's go, let's go overground
Take your head out of the mud baby

She's gonna dream up
The world she wants to live in
She's gonna dream out loud
She's gonna dream out loud
Dream out loud

Secret World

I stood in this unsheltered place
'Til I could see the face behind the face
All that had gone before had left no trace

Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
All the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

So I watch you wash your hair
Underwater, unaware
And the plane flies through the air
Did you think you didn't have to choose it
That I alone could win or lose it
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

In this house of make believe
Divided in two, like Adam and Eve
You put out and I receive

[Chorus:]
Down by the railway siding
In our secret world, we were colliding
In all the places we were hiding love
What was it we were thinking of?

Oh the wheel is turning spinning round and round
And the house is crubling but the stairways stand

With no guilt and no shame, no sorrow or blame
Whatever it is, we are all the same

Making it up in our secret world [x3]
Shaking it up
Breaking it up
Making it up in our secret world

Seeing things that were not there
On a wing on a prayer
In this state of disrepair

[Chorus]

Shh, listen...

From email to Dr kNow; [ seems to fit in ok here... ]

I have an insanely high metabolic rate. Lately I have been looking into what I have found referred to as a metastatic diet. In the case of a metastatic or metaphasic metabolism the body is attempting to burn fats and not carbohydrates. So if you or I are like this ( and I am also a stick man no matter what or how much I eat ) then we are only causing trouble when we try to live on carbs like most of the world is attempting to do. There are plenty of complex fats and proteins that are organic and non animal based. I just had a little snack consisting of a handful of kalamata olives, a couple slices of swiss cheese, a shortbread cookie and a glass of water with a spoonful of magnesium citrate.

If you are like me you will never put on bulk no matter how much chicken you eat or iron you pump. My muscle just gets denser and I can crush a man's head with one hand when I am playing the 12 string guitar a lot. I get really ripped if I get busy. Most monasteries and retreat centers are into heavy carb loading, so I will go completely crazy if I stick with that routine for over four months. Nothing I can do about that. Maybe you and I can start our own monastery for stick men. Tobacco these days tastes like a tire fire, it's a crime, I think next summer I will start a plot of my own North and South American Organic Blended and maybe stuff a couple other plants in between the rows...

Gotta watch out for your own body/bodymind/mind these days, it is literally a war on all life forms out there...

yeah, I really do smoke.

I figured it was that or kill someone to survive back in high school. It was a very harsh place.
Besides, this way no one dares imagine I could be a saint, perfect camouflage. You would not believe how often I have needed that.

Also, as I mentioned in the sleep thread, it fogs the mind. I prefer a kind of keif, a small amount of cannabis flower & mostly tobacco in either a pipe or a cigarette. We have new laws about cannabis coming in, in our country in the new year. I will have to see what is possible, looks like the corporate sector is the only winner, as usual, from what I can see, but maybe it will become possible to grow a nice organic blend some day. I don't need much. When I am meditating I usually smoke very little and it is true that industrially grown stuff is very toxic, all of it, food, drugs, you name it. So, if someone has a small organic farm, they are living the best way they can.

When I meditate more formally a lot the smoke is particularly harsh and I smoke almost not at all. I think I could quit entirely but it keeps me grounded in ways nothing else has succeeded in doing and maybe I would just float off if I didn't have some kind of sins to keep my feet on the ground.

Who knows, mostly just conceit likely. I figure if that is my only problem, I can deal with it in heaven where all of this fire down here is merely incense anyways.

take care of yourself Dr. kNow
don't make any of my mistakes, if I can help you to avoid it, OK?

Well, everything suddenly seems to be working fine.

So I would just like to say - I hope there are no hard feelings on the parts of the NSA, CIA or any of the other nameless faceless alphabet agencies out there about anything I have said or written or on the parts of any of the worlds most capitalized institutions.

No hard feelings on my part OK?

I recently saw a brilliant film that fits in here. It is set across multiple interlaced stories across multiple era's of time, and beautifully presents how one man's actions ripple across time and influence the future of many. Everything is top notch.

I sat through Cloud Atlas.
Not bad,
I think it makes a good first try for a fugue.

Interesting. Will be back after a read.

Update:

It was much better than I expected. I was hooked from the first chapter.
If this book was to be re-published & marketed in India it would become a huge success.
The writer must have spent a lot of time doing his research and looking up all the references in a time before the internet was even conceived. Some of the technologies he imagined are already here.
