I'm currently reading the Sammaditthi Sutta ( http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/mn/mn.009.ntbb.html ) in order to test my understanding. And I seem to know everything from direct experience up to the point of formations, where the sutta says:
"There are these three kinds of formations: the bodily formation, the verbal formation, the mental formation ..."
Why are they grouped in this way? There must be some reason in connection with practice. Does anybody have any ideas about this and what to look for in meditation?
Thanks,
