True, I tend to prefer descriptions taken from the 1st person/phenomenological point of view. When speaking about practice, I think it is the most useful perspective.
As far as philosophy goes, 3rd person can be really fun

And actually, talking dharma through the lens of post-modern deconstructionism is almost koan-like. It can get the mind to release all objects while remaining bright and sharp. It all depends on how it's presented, though.
