I am 2 months deep into TMI practice, at stage 4, and was wondering if doing 30 minutes of Fire kasina practice before 1 hour of TMI practice could make progress faster or better. I've done this one time and noticed a huge improvement in clarity and focus troughout the 1 hour of TMI practice, and got a short taste of what i think was Jhana.

Other questions:

1. Are fire kasina concetration and Samadhi concetration the same? (I think i read somewhere that fire kasina concetration doesn't last)

2. Is it effective to combine Fire kasina and TMI?

3. Do beginners benefit from Fire kasina practice?

4. Why is there so little information on Fire kasina?

I have been doing Fire Kasina for a week now, so I am no expert. I have been meditating for 7 years. I really like fire kasina. I would say try it and see for yourself if it helps. If it helps then do it.
I would say yes. It's just using a different object. The fire kasina does fade, and you can refresh it as many times a you like. At some point you will want to work with what is there after the kasina fades.
I would say yes, but you will just have to give it a try and see if it helps. For someone else it might not be as helpful.
I would say yes. It doesn't matter where you are on the path, its just another object to work with and see what happens. I wouldn't say there is best objects for beginners and better ones for advanced.
