I am a big fan of Practical Insight Meditation by Mahasi Sayadaw! Thanks Daniel for referring to this book!
Anayways, after reading this excerpt from his Compendium on Meditation I wanted to read the entire book.

On BuddhistGeeks they have a nice article about his book and it says that a guy called Armstrong (if I remember correctly) is working on a translation for this. I think the article was from 2013 so I wonder if anybody knows whether this project has been finished or not - and where I would be able to find the entire book in english.
