Dark night

Dark Night is a term borrowed from the works of St John of the Cross to refer to the insight stages of Dissolution, Fear, Misery, Disgust, Desire for Deliverance and Re-observation, also known as the Dukkha √Ďanas or Knowledges of Suffering, as it is easier to say than those terms and more catchy. These are also known as the stages of the Third Vipassana Jhana.
