OBE refers to Out of Body Experiences, which are relatively common. Traveling out of body is also sometimes simply called traveling.

They tend to involve extremely real, or even hyper-real, experiences of traveling outside of one's physical body.

They may occur spontaneously, but often are associated with a stage of practice called the Arising and Passing Away. While technically an OBE is generally classified as a concentration or samatha atteinment, traditional insights and stages may arise during them also.

They may arise from dreams, in which one is dreaming, become lucid, and then is traveling, or one may learn to jump out while one is awake, and one may also return either to a dream or to a waking stage, regardless of which you entered the OBE from.
