English teachers needed for Dzongsar Monastery in northern India

A Principal ESL teacher and volunteer teachers are required to teach
adult monks in Dzongsar Khyentse ChÃokyi LodrÃo Institute in
Chauntra (HP), India.
The Principal position is for a minimum of six months and volunteer
positions for a minimum of three months. Positions commence in late
February 2010 and are only available for male teachers.

The successful applicants will be provided with accommodation, meals and
an allowance. Prerequisites for the positions include a qualification
teaching English as a second language and relevant experience.

The students in the English language program are monks enrolled in years eight and above at Dzongsar Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Institute, Chauntra. The aim of the DKCLI English Language Program is to turn out graduates capable of teaching Buddhist philosophy through English medium. Learners will develop competency in English grammar and in the four main skill areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking through a five-year graduated program.
