Dr. Douglas J. Tataryn (known as Culadasa’s psychotherapist) called his main technique “The Nedera Process“ (Resonance Based Emotional Processing). Dr Tataryn claims that this kind of psychological work skyrocketed his meditation practice, and therefore I assume that Dharma practitioners may find it interesting. Here's a summary of the method.

NOTICE – Notice the signs of the emotion (physical sensations, behaviors, thoughts, feelings).

EXPERIENCE – Slow down, really feel the emotions you have, experience all emotional sensations in your torso, the way they influence your breathing etc.

DIFFERENTIATE – Find the specific words that describe your feelings, search for words that resonate with the emotion (especially the “9 core feelings”: Lost/Disoriented, Insignificant, Helpless, Hopeless, Bad, Alone, Loss/Empty, Inadequate, Worthless).

EXPRESS – Say your chosen words (or sentences) out loud. This step must not be skipped. Allow any physical expression of emotion to occur (especially crying).

RESONATE & RESOLVE – While you are saying the words out lout, pay attention to the body. When you find the right word, you will experience a “resonance” - a sudden increase of emotional activation (or, sometimes, a feeling of relief). Keep saying different words, searching for the one that fits PERFECTLY. This usually leads to crying, and, eventually to the feeling of resolution and peace.

ACTION – Sometimes you need to take some action in order to find closure and make things feel right.

Here’s a method in guided form, led by Dr. Tataryn himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbgvemxQHuc

That is almost the same procedure taught by Eugene Gendlin, which he called 'Focusing' and developed in the 1960s. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
