I had a big energetic opening on a retreat that completely blew my brains out. I was asked to leave the retreat due to mental health concerns.
I spent the next 6 weeks in severe psychosis/ creative thinking mode.
Daniel kindly met with me and helped me figure out which way was up again and I spent the next 6 weeks pulling myself back out of the hole.
Physically and mentally I was a wreck, but my heart knew to keep going and keep laughing and keep crying.
I've written a short book about my experience. I hope that sharing it fuels the conversation about the crossover between psychotherapy and meditation and how we need to embrace both to wake up.

Wow, that it some skillful way of dealing with such an intense and disorienting experience! My deepest respect.
I love it!

Just read this and bumping the thread because it's an awesome piece of writing. Favorite bit:
Forget everything you have conceived about enlightenment
It will not be a graceful ascension into pure light
If there is one thing I have learnt about waking up, it is this:
It is usually the one thing that you don’t want it to be

Fuck, this is powerful stuff! It lands its insightful punches in so many ways and in so many places.
