Hello all, I’m looking for a teacher and I don’t know where to start. I’m looking for a someone who teaches along the lines of what Ken McLeod would have taught when he was still teaching. I have practiced in the Theravada tradition (mostly noting) and used TMI for a couple years. Lately I’ve been much more interested in teachers like Ken McLeod, Dan Brown, and Lock Kelly. Up until this point I have not had a teacher. I’ve been reading/ practicing with “Wake Up To Your Life” and looking into other Vajrayana/ Tibetan resources but it seems like the teacher in extremely important to these traditions. I live in CT and have looked at the centers near me but I haven’t found what I’m looking for.

Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

Those three teachers you mentioned are specifically from the Mahamudra tradition, and it seems you are searching for teachers that teach online because you cannot find anyone in your area, but I don't know anyone that are Mahamudra teachers that teach online. I know Thrangu Rinpoche once wanted to hold a teaching online on Clarifying the Natural State, which I also wanted to join initially, but then they cancelled it or something.

For the Dzogchen side, I can recommend Arcaya Malcolm Smith. I'm currently attending a 5 day teaching online, and my mentor John Tan/Thusness is also attending it, not so much because he wanted to become a Dzogchen practitioner but because he wants to find out about Dzogchen view. So far we found it resonating. "Actually dzogchen is quite good, especially with Malcolm's interpretation. Another guy you can converse with is Kyle Dixon. He is a student of Malcolm and Malcolm said in a dinner last year that I happened to be able to attend, that Kyle is the first person to totally get his view.
