I can see that working on asanas can unlock higher jhanas. Besides the obvious afterglow, has anyone actually charted which postures can unlock, say, formless realms. My appetite for them seems to be increasing.

I don't want to overdo it, no?

emoticon How are you feeling mate? I hope all is well with you. I'm asking as I sense in your writing a fidgety character. I might be totally wrong here of course emoticon

As for the attainments "congrats" would be in order emoticon

p.s. immaterial Samatha 5th Jhana can be drug like for those of us who didn't have much happiness in life but had lots of fear and insecurity. This Jhana in my opinion might have the same feel as the one heroin junkies might have. It really is feeling utterly safe to be embraced by that vast safe space. It's addictive.
I'm just sharing my experience which might not have anything to do with you of course emoticon

Best wishes mate!

"which postures can unlock, say, formless realms."

I forgot to add; I was in Seiza position when 5th Jhana arose for me, day after day (then after several days I lost it. This was in 2009) I'm not sure if leg posture has anything to do with it. Might be though.

I appreciate your kind words. We're getting our piano tuned today!

Late nights sometimes lead to insight, sometimes not. We'll see this time around.

I had an awakening moment. It was definitely awakening because I could go to sleep afterward.

That said, I am really not feeling this now. Major anxiety attack. I guess I am not in any position to handle more advanced tantras.

I would if I could, but even something as esoteric as tantra requires a Sangha !
