p.s. if you are a mac user check out the iTunes ---> radio ---> ambient ---> "Limbik Frequencies" that is the best ambient/electronic mix I have found, better than Hearts of Space which I also used to like a long time ago

I get a lot of questions at work about Facebook and invitations from various friends, and I have had a hard time figuring out which compartments of my highly compartmentalized life I would put there, so haven't joined.

I am not sure how many people we want learning about this place in all honesty, as the last mass-wave that came from a Buddhist Geeks Podcast lead to serious complexities and group instability.

I am liking the current slow trickle of people into this place and manageably levels of activity.

hi daniel: i see your point on the manageability levels. on the compartmentalized life, i sorta agree too. facebook can really get addicting. challenging too with all the junk.

hansen: thats weird. when i searched myself, im the first one that came up. anyhow, i got yours. adding you now! = )

Yes - facebook is full of junk - maybe pleasant for kids, but boring for me. OTOH it's a good way to contact some people.

As for this forum and letting it grow slowly - that's a good way to go. Putting it on facebook would make it visible to folks who 'harvest' readers for their stuff - which 90% of the time is not relevant.

facebook full of junk: i guess its just so happens that its sort of like a requirement for work and for socializing nowadays. maybe also becoz of the cutlture of from where im from too.

DHO on facebook: i actually posted it on a small group in Facebook of meditators in my area where we're about 50, that was a few months ago, and i guess no one really came yet. i think even if there was a DHO on facebook, not That many people would come. Theres a Shinzen Young page, and we're only 3! when i found it he was only 1! so i guess not many people are really into this stuff

mitch - such things take time - i am in a listserve that has 6,000 readers and about 40-50 are connected on face book. The problem with connecting DhO to facebook is that it is web-site based, not email based. Email based sites get the invites directly with almost no work (and not much intention, either)

My kids introduced me to facebook recently and twitter. I enjoy posting links, books, and little things. I can understand Daniel's concern though, and I'm finding my interest there fading some, ...perhaps there's moving in another direction now.

What I really like is the ART I have discovered on the internet, WOW! What beautiful expressions, so much creativity!
