I am looking for sources pertaining to the Buddhist Tantric concept of relating progressive levels of desire with the acts of: gazing, touching, *something else*, and coitus. I am referencing something I read in passing many years ago, and I can't really find any matching passages through google. I think it is from Tsongkhapa. 

I believe the 4 levels are looking, talking , touching/kissing , coitus.  There's more detail in the book Karmamudra by Dr Nida Chenagtsang.  

In terms of source text, do you want to know which Buddhist tantra these instructions arose from? They probably are part of the commentarial tradition of a tantra & not outlined in the tantra itself.  But maybe from the Hevajra or Kalachakra tantra traditions? Not sure.  I believe both of those are heavy on the karmamudra instruction.

I suppose I'm really looking for any references to this. I actually have that Chenagtsang book though I have yet to read it. I will check out Hevajra and Kalachakra. Thanks for the reply!
