The Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit.
The Father is the thing-in-itself, the son is its perceived manifestation and the Holy Spirit is what makes manifestation possible.
We apprehend directly the Son only. However, this leads us to know the two others. Without the Holy Spirit there would be no manifestation and without the Father there would be nothing to manifest.
Thus Trinity is just another way of expressing the knowledge that "Form is strictly Emptiness and Emptiness is strictly Form".
The Son is Form,
The Father is Emptiness,
And the Holy Spirit is what makes one begets the other.
In ordinary living the Son is everything,
In primary realization the Holy Spirit is everything,
In the end, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all present at the same time.
In the beginning mountains are simply mountains,
Then mountains are no longer mountains,
And at the end mountains are again mountains.

or,
right brain, left brain and corpus callosum
heaven, earth, and the way (yang, yin, tao)
thesis, antithesis, synthesis
ego, superego, id
the gunas
all arise together, one does not engender another
the one has no second

"one begot two"
who's your daddy?
tao te ching, feng
Forty-two
The Tao begot one.
One begot two.
Two begot three.
And three begot the ten thousand things.
The ten thousand things carry yin and embrace yang.
They achieve harmony by combining these forces.
Men hate to be "orphaned," "widowed," or "worthless,"
But this is how kings and lords describe themselves.
For one gains by losing
And loses by gaining.
What others teach, I also teach; that is:
"A violent man will die a violent death!"
This will be the essence of my teaching.

Pitiful are
People who do not know
Nirvana and its eternal felicity!
How they grieve
At life, death, and mutability!
