Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha/Jhānas

I've been experimenting with the new Google tool NotebookLM which can generate documents like FAQs and Study Guides from submitted content, including PDFs, YouTube videos, and other file formats. Its most amazing feature is that it generates an AI-driven podcast called 'Deep Dive' in which two hosts discuss the sources submitted. Some of these are terrific and overall the site is a great learning tool.

Here's one I did on Daniel's 'Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha' and another on the jhānas. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

First off suprisingly effective.  Second off, boy does it perfectly encapsulate the banal horror of the vapid podcast voice.

"Yeah, yeah... yes!"

Ha! Well, this is the age we live in, isn't it? It is like a cartoon of a serious attempt to mimic podcasts that yet might actually be just normie enough to get lots of listens...

Thanks for the chuckle!

How about this one: an AI that answers questions on meditation solely by reference to Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha?

You could do the same with with the EPRC White Paper or a collection of relevant research papers etc, allowing people to have a dialogue with their content. You can already generate interesting hypotheses, e.g., exploring the connection between the Dhamma and the free energy principle or predictive modelling, or use Bayesian inference and scenario modelling to prioritise and rank potential research projects. We're just scratching the surface of what's already possible.

I think Chris already did a chat GPT trained on MCTB somewhere on this site... oh, I was wrong, he tested it on a private site and wasn't impressed: Wisdom of the DhO AI LLM: please read and comment! - Discussion - www.dharmaoverground.org

Giving this link (https://www.integrateddaniel.info/s/MCTB2-Complete-PDF-Final-copy.pdf) to vanilla ChatGPT, you can make it restrict its answers to the MCTB.
