The other day I was sitting in the early evening, paying attention to the sensations of the breath.

A thought appeared: "All this suffering have to cease, I will sit here and not budge until I attain liberation from suffering".

I went back to the breath.

A few minutes later, I heard noises coming from the kitchen.
A distracting thought appeared. "My wife must be preparing food".

I went back to the breath.

Soon after, a thought appeared "All this suffering have to cease, I will sit here and not budge until I attain liberation from suffering, or until it's time for dinner, whichever comes first".

In retrospect, this sounds a bit sexist, let me add: when the food is ready, I set up the table and bring everything that's needed. After the dinner, I tidy things up, and do the dishes. Also, my wife is a stronger practitioner than me.

I don't remember exactly, but it was really the usual sit, a bit more than an hour, until it was time for dinner.
