I just spent about one and a half hours writing a reply to a post, clicked on publish, and it all disapeared. All that time waisted for nothing. Does this happen often here?

Use plain text editor
Do not copy in emojis
Don't write lengthy replies out into the website you can lose session and be logged out etc.

The website has been known to test the patience of even our most enlightened members but the above should sort you out.

In a better world, one with unlimited funds and time, DhO would be on a different message board platform - more reliable, with more user-friendly features and,(TBH) more moderator tools. But we all know this is not that world. DhO sits on what is essentially a very capable online commerce software platform that happens to have a message board capability in it. It's not as reliable as we'd like, and it eats posts occasionally, as this topic illustrates.

And an easier trcik: Before posting, hit a Command/Ctrl + F5 to reload the page. That will reduce the problems.

It happens to me too. I just write in the forum and if the message gets lost I take it as a sign from Karma and move on.

If I spend more than about 10 minutes writing a post, it generally disappears when I hit Publish. I suspect it is linked to some kind of time-out. One way around the problem is to make a habit of copying the text before hitting publish. That way, you can just navigate back to where you were and paste in the text.
I also subscribe to Papa Che's (let the gods decide) approach but an hour and a half is a lot of time to have disappear into the ether.
