Hey friends.
when I try to improve my focus during vipassana practice, on its early stages, I usually try to speed up my noting process (i practice noting technique) artificially, untill my mind catches up. Often it works, but sometimes it does not. My focus overall is a bit lackluster, just enough to progress in vipassana, but I'm wondering how other experienced practioneers improve their focus off-retreat.
please share your experience and knowledge!
thank you for your contribution.

Have a look at the anapanasati sutta, which is how the Buddha taught meditation, it combines concentration (samatha) and vipassana.

I prepare for vipassana first by doing a kind of meditation that develops concentration while also relaxing the mind and body.
