Reification of POI stages caused me problems

I had a bunch of insights that really have changed my perspective on the POI maps. I'm not saying they are wrong, but focus on the maps was very detrimental to my practice.
This especially is the case with re observation and equanimity. Where focusing on re observation and equanimity makes things so much worse.

I had the insight that I was reifying the stages creating unnecessary clinging and aversion. For example, while in re observation I reify the 'states' of re observation and equanimity. This creates aversion because I want to get away from this thing called re observation which creates aversion and towards this state called equanimity. And when I am in equanimity I try to lock down this 'state'. But equanimity and reservation are empty of inherent existence. They are not 'things' to get towards or away from which I was unskillfully doing before. I guess focusing too much on states can be unhelpful I guess?

Nice insight, great work!

All phenomena are ultimately transient.

All reified states are impermanent.
All mind objects seemingly capable of reification are impermanent.

There is nothing which can be held onto and no one to hold on.

Insight stages have the power to transform the way we experience life and ourselves within it. they do that by changing our view.

To give an example the nama-rupa pariccheda nyana onwards to the udayavaya nyana basically change our view of the solidity of our experience. They do that by changing our mental models or 'sankharas'. This change in mental models happens by creating a set up of observational skills and permitting those skills to .... observe ... stuff!

So none of the Insights are 'states' really. They may be accompanied by states, but those states are irrelevant and should bbe ideally ignored and forgotten. It is the change in 'view' and the change in mental models that is the fruit of the practice.
