Hey, I don't know if this is the right category - you can move it if you want to.
15. 6. 2025
So far I've done 3 hours of practice. Will update later.
My goal is 4 - 10 hours.
I am doing kasina mixed with holotrophic breathing.
I am posting it here to get some motivation to practice.
I have an electronic candle and when the battery goes out I do water kasina.
I'd love a meditation partner, so I'm more motivated to put in the hours.

what's a meditation partner? what would be your personal description of holothropic breathing?
might be more appropriate to be posted in practice logs
what's your past experience like with this sort of concentration?
do you have any questions or things you'd like to share about your practice (with your meditation partner)?
do you want to share more details about the psych ward? typical advice is to be careful with concentration if you are in a mental health situation.
are you doing some pre-set method, or exploring on your own? for example, there is a specific cycle Daniel Ingram has done and described in his book. are you closing your eyes? what colors are you seeing? just one? cycles? and do you practice color concentration without a kasina object?

Someone who's on a retreat too who I could tell everyday how many hours I did. So I actually put in the hours.
Somehow I'm less disciplined than when practicing at home.
Yeah, I've some great experiences but that's mostly because I've mixed it with holotrophic breathing instead of a mantra.
For example - technically I'm not advanced enough to have experienced realms the normal way. But I have doing it this way.
I've read Daniel's take. I think it's excellent. Although getting a proper nimitta with an electronic candle is somehow harder than with a normal candle.
My take on holotrophic breathing - no breaks between inbreath and outbreath, breathe into the belly and I also like frequent breath holds. They help greatly.
I haven't found the practice logs category:-/
I practice without a kasina object only when I'm too tired and have to lay down.

well, i'm basically on a retreat 24/7 lol. i do go outside daily, but i also like to practice in nature. there is always perception, so you can observe something. in other words, i'm always building either moment-to-moment concentration (which you can also see as an object) or concentration on some specific object. perception is getting more and more fluid and the boundary between concentration/relaxation is kinda disappearing and moving into either the life with single intent or free living/pure observation category.

you can write your daily hours here and i'll read them or you can share some other contact details if you'd like? i don't have any "meditation partner" experience so i'm not aware of any important rites and rituals. lol
how's your progress going? are you moving towards any specific goal? adjusting practice or technique somehow?

Today I put in only 2 hours, so I have at least 2 more hours to go.
I might DM you my WhatsApp later.
My goal is stream entry (I've had some experiences or whatever you want to call it that resembled it, but I think I would have better baseline consciousness).

So far today I did 3 hours. It's 21:29 and I'm pretty tired. I don't know if I'm going to put in more time.
But I may have (or may not have) hit a fruition today, so I'm pretty happy. I have no idea if it's real because of the short duration and the kasina/holotrophic breathing combo.
