Had some deep 'mindfulness practice in daily life' with my girlfriend this weekend. I'm bummed out cause we're gonna break up in the near future.

Where I to go to a retreat with Ajahn Brahm, I would get 1 hour of dhamma talk and maybe 10 minutes interview per day. But being at home, I am at complete liberty. When I want, I can listen to him for even several hours in a row!

It's 20:20 or 8:20pm here. today (tue 5/11/13) and yesterday had short bursts of intense joy over little things like drinking a cup of warm chicory beverage with Rub syrup and soy milk or learning a new faster way to tie my shoe laces.

some emotions, like anger, gratitude, fear, hope, love and hate are more directed at someone or something. others, like happiness and sadness, are less.

Here is why I'm happy that Gangnam Style is approaching 2 billion views:

First of all - the lyrics.
What kind of girl is Psy looking for?
"A girl who is warm ... knows how to enjoy ... a cup of coffee (the little things in life) ... A sensable girl"
And what kind of guy is Psy (according to himself)?
"A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles"

Second - the video.
Psy dancing with a kid, is not afraid to get covered in foam, shows intimacy with another man and spends time with the elderly. He is not afraid to look stuipid, which makes him look cool. He is not afraid to look femenine, which brings out a new kind of masculinity in him.

in conclusion.
If this is the future, then it's good enough for me!

I remember leaving the university in Aug 2011, not knowing what will be the new centerpiece of my life.
I remember choosing meditation as the new centerpiece, around Dec 2011.

I looking for a place, possibly a monastery or meditation center or school, possibly in Asia, where I could continue my self-retreat, but with the help and support of other experienced and more experienced meditators, possibly monks. Anyone knows of such a place?
