I seem to get a quick, big build up of saliva in my mouth when meditating and the swallowing action kind of disturbs me my focus. Anyone else relate to that or have anything to say about it?

even rapture (Piti) can show up in this way, so this is just a condition the practice can bring. If you keep going it will go away and sometimes come back again. I think many of the meditators are "disturbed" from this (swallowing then uncomfortable sensation in your throat). I still have this many times after five years of practice.
If concentration get deeper then even can come out from your mouth
So this is also just a condition worth to investigate.

The whole saliva swallowing thing is actually stage-related and comes in cycles. It is normal but often irritating. It is an early insight stages thing most of the time, is common about 1-3 days into a retreat, etc. It has happened to me often. Just check out the sensations that make it up and also the reactions to it, which are also normal.
