However sofar the message has been, life is short, everything you do is meaningless, family, friends children etc are all dreams and illusions, death is coming, it could be here before I finish this sentence. Do the practice NOW, meditation there are 3 types, also you MUST get a guru or else you will end up in hell and be tortured.
There really aint much mention of benefits for this lifetime unless you actually realise buddhahood.
Summary:
Life is practically over, all you do except meditation is meaningless and pointless, dying is horrifying and death is allmost here, practice or you might end up in hell.
