It's so heartening to read about Effective Altruism. Peter Singer wrote a nice introductory book to it called "The Most Good You Can Do" that describes many inspiring accounts of how Effective Altruists are changing their lives to better benefit others, and finding that they've become happier in the process. It was a huge inspiration and an eye-opener for me.
