Well to anwser yr question, it's one step towards enlightenment thro' the sense door of taste.
However,  I'm a beginner... it may just be an impermanent samatha state, but one worth having, investigations continue...

It is an expression of mother's love & care, also bring good health to the physical body, which is a foundation for dharma practise. 

hi nicky, i used to live close by a big turkish community, but yes you are right.


regardless of that... beware the law of unintended consequenses: now when i prepare to sit i start to salivate, not what i was planning for but at least it gives me something to work with.
