I'm curious if there are any online groups where people are sitting together. Grateful for any tips!

Why not start one?

The nice thing about appear.in is that you don't need to download and plugins, programs, accounts etc....barrier to entry is pretty much clicking on a button that allows camera/mic to be shared.

In Zen Computer,

advises: “Don’t ask where the path is. You’re on it.” In that spirit, I
decided to try two different paths for my explorations: Insight Timer is an app which maps and connects fellow meditators online, and The Buddhist Geeks is a subscription-only community based in Google+

I just bookmarked the appear.it channel and said "hi" to dreamwalker briefly. Will probably use it in the coming days.

I received an update from Roger Sessions. There has been an enormous increase in interest in online meditation groups.
Roger writes: “We started 2019 with 40 groups meeting weekly. By the end of the year, we had 60, a 50% increase. We started 2019 with 807 people registered to meditate in our chapels. By the end of the year, we had 2001, a 248% increase.”
Here is the weekly calendar of sittings: https://meditationchapel.org/calendar/

I organise an online practice group for European time zones.
Our main practice session is Saturday mornings but we also meet at other times during the week.
If anyone is interested you can PM me.
Alternatively, I'm more than happy to share my experience in setting one up, if it's something you'd like to do.
Cheers
James

Hi, can't seem to find your name in the messaging. What times are your European sitting group?
Cheers,
Danielle

I feel like being of service to those who feel the need of support to practice. As there might already be groups out there sharing quiet meditation I would rather offer an opportunity to do Noting Aloud Mahasi style as thought by Kenneth Folk, one on one, over Skype. Im not inetersted in other practice styles. Thank you for understanding.
BTW, Im not a teacher but have experience all the way to EQ to give a tip or two, but you yourself take responsability for your own practice, how much you can do or not do. I sure will not force you. Its your Mind afterall. Do with it what you like.
Maybe safest is to start a thread here on DhO about your own practice and journal about this skype sitting as well so others can give their view on what and how to deal with certain arisings.
For those interested contact me here so we can give it a try. As mentioned this is more of a motivational support in form of "feeling accountable" to that person Im meditating with over skype. Something to push me forth into applying practice moment by moment and not loosing the stream of consciousness during that 30-45 min sit. Just to mention, I will not be meditating Aloud during that sit. I will be there as support and do noting such as "listening, listening, listening" (in case you wonder).
We can do this with camera on or off as it suits you. And of course this is a friendly meeting where I can pay for my own drink As I have a job and familly I will not be able to organise this often but once a week could be managable. Im in Europe (Denmark).
BTW, my old member name is Che Guebuddha (my old account is having some issues with logging into the forum, something Admin is trying to sort out for some time now to no avail, hence me opening a new account)
Be well!
