Any woman here who attended Pa Auk monastery?

Hi. I'm thinking about going to Pa Auk for 2-3 weeks, but all the information online relates to the male side of the monastery. Seeing as the two sexes are completely separate, I'm wondering if there are any women here who can expand on the experience.

Thanks.

On the remote off chance you didnt know: Shaila Catherine "Focused and Fearless"

My guess is contacting the author about her extensive Pa Auk monastic experience would be the best next step in lieu of response here...

Try contacting these people here: http://www.jhanasadvice.com/

Shaila Catherine has studied extensively with the Pa Auk Sayadaw, but I believe that was at retreats in Massachusetts.

There are others around here (SF Bay Area) who have been at the Pa Auk monastery -- Temple Smith, for one (now affliated with Spirit Rock Meditation Center; cf http://www.tempelsmith.info/index.php?page=bio); Temple also once emailed me the name of a woman who had been there and was now around here, but I can't find that info right now.

There's also a monastery in Northern California that affiliates with the Pa Auk -- the Sayadaw goes there when he visits California. They might have good information.

I was hoping somebody else would pipe up who actually knew what they were talking about emoticon

CJMacie is right, acc. to the book Shaila's experience seems to have been mostly in Massachusettes...

I confused her with "Practicing the Jhanas" by Stephen Snyder & Tina Rasmussen (good little book, with foreword by Pa Auk Sayadaw). They definitely retreated in Myanmar(Burma) and the format of the book is somewhat anecdotal of their experience there.

Edit:
oops, and they run that website referred to earlier emoticon
