Looks to me like his delight in phenonema prevented him from seeing some slippery subtle ego games, manifesting in certain ways. There's lots of hidden cravings I notice which he is only partially aware but they are either suppressed with teachings or concentration. While the experience must have been profound, his fear of reattachment will uproot those sankharas. I
A realtime glimpse on emptiness, yes. enlightenment...? The window was always clean under that dirt, but at times it is clear to see through as well. I think he may need a few more experiences and time without any things to do to take anything significant from this.
