I dont want to meet - just wanted to say that buddhism is very strong in israel (even though i couldnt find any evidance from the internet  on it)  you have teachers from all traditions (mahyana -theravada and their sub devisions)  including monks

maybe you can contact this general website and ask them on activity : http://www.buddhism-israel.org/

there are teachers scaterd all over israel and meditation groups and centers -  and i know there are some activity in tel aviv also
