I'm aware these are terms of art in the field of Buddhist meditation, but I've been wondering if they're not the same after all. Wisdom is conventionally associated with experience, but I think that's because it's usually only by being continually assailed by certain experiences that we become privy to their origins. Vipassana is simply the active form of an otherwise passive process.
