This says that Vipassana is an experience not technique. A lot of controversial stuff mixed with truth that I know.

Really just being curious! I'm not searching for remedies, just info. This guy writes well and is interesting to read - well he said to stop reading too, but that's my hobby!
He says some really funny stuff dissing other religions/guru's...![emoticon](https://www.dharmaoverground.org/o/classic-theme/images/emoticons/happy.gif)

Buddha: Hey Makyo master, I am Buddha.
The Zen master looks up at Buddha.
Zen master: How did you get inside? Isn't the door closed? How did you come here without an appointment?
Buddha: I am Buddha. I can go and come anywhere. No door, wall, or roof can stop me. I have come here to enlighten you.
Zen master: This is the master. This must teach you. Whatever you can do is Makyo, it will pass, continue meditation.
Buddha: I don't need to meditate. I am enlightened, and I have come here to enlighten you about your true nature. I know your true nature from the inside and the outside.
Zen master: "This will take that stick and This will beat you with that stick." He gets up, takes the stick, beats the Buddha, and says, "Whatever you experienced was Makyo, it will pass, continue meditation."
Buddha: You are a Wacko!
Zen master: You are a Makyo.

Yilun, I read the blog and I think the guy is conflating Vipassana with generic mindfulness. If I substitute mindfulness for Vipassana in his TRUTH statement then I would be inclined to agree with him. That said, I believe Vipassana to be a technique, a process we pursue, with insight as the preferred result or experience.
What do you think?

He doesn't know everything, there's a lot of truth (He has done his Sanskrit research well) but there's a lot of BS as well. I think he isn't MCTB Path 4 (no mention of duality at all) and he has probably never even done Vipassana as a technique - although the word meaning of Vipassana is closer to what he claims as experience. What he says about gurus, Zen, etc. are very funny though! I enjoyed reading the comments of his blog - the funnier stuff are there

So is there a true self? ![emoticon](https://www.dharmaoverground.org/o/classic-theme/images/emoticons/happy.gif)

Hehe i was joking. But if you ask about self, in my case it appeared as realization of absense ("of cooourse there is no self, how could i assume otherwise, it's funny). But i think true self and no self are different words and perspectives for the same thing.
