I have the kind of job that requires sitting at a computer and working constantly for hours at a time. So, while working, I listen to a lot of podcasts.
There are a lot of podcasts available on spiritual topics (of course I love buddhist geeks!). However, most of these I find so unhelpful. I mean, I really have gotten to a place where I want to hear about how to "get it done." Anything else can be nice I guess, but, there is so much bullshit out there! enough said?

Anyway, I've been trying everone (zen people, IMS people, spirit rock people, ajahns, sayadaws, you name it) and this Tara Brach has been hitting home for me lately. She really doesn't fit into the category of talking about how to "get it done," but, she kind of has another approach to teaching dharma that I'm still finding very useful:

What she does is talk about how to reduce suffering in one's daily life through the application of basic theravada buddhist concepts mixed up with a lot of western therapy talk. And, for what it's worth, listening to her and taking her advice has helped to reduce my suffering! A lot. So, I'll take it.

It's good to hear that you've been finding her to be a good teacher. From what I can tell she's probably the most accessible local resource for me (fairly recently moved to DC), but I'm generally loathe to throw in my lot with any for anything without first getting some reliable background information so I haven't had any real experience with her yet.
