Hi----

I'm looking for anyone with experience dealing with the dark night who's in the Vermont area. My sister is struggling in Rochester. I keep trying to normalize it for her but she is feeling very alone. She is certain she is "crazy" and this I fear is getting her stuck there.

Welcome to the DhO : )

There are a few practitioners in VT -- maybe you will hear from them. I am outside of state right now, but do want to ask that anyone who thinks they are crazy might consider medical evaluation. Meditation is not the same as medication and curing all illnesses.

Also, someone like Kenneth Folk, who I don't know personally, may have the professional licensure to be reimburse by Green Mountain, but be able to assess and treat/diagnose/dharma chat with your sister helpfully and with a view to possible medical needs.

What makes you think your sister is in the dark night?
Do you have personal experience with the stages of the path?
Does your sister know about and/or lurk on this site?
Do you think your sister would be open to reaching out on this site?
Does she meditate?
Is her act together on the conventional level?
