What do you mean by healing? Physical healing?
Yes, illness, disease, pain.
Also, it seems like magic is sort of similar to "law of attraction" type philosophies, is that correct? All I've read on the topic is Daniel's essay and a few other short pieces.
It seems like there's a spookiness around the subject. Many of the book covers have frightening images - what's that about!?? I'm a little bit hesitant to read much more if there's anything 'bad' about it.

I think that a lot of the above information can be used for healing, but not in a laying on hands sorts of way.
The images could be there because of the great importance of symbolism in magic. For a good introduction, I'd read the rune soup guide to sigil magic, "sigils reboot" I think it's called, and then Alan Chapmans "Advanced Magick for beginners" to get to know the contemplative/enlightenment oriented aspects of the subject.
But if spookines is not your thing, you might not like magic. It's bad-ass

Nice list, and not just because I am on it. I am inclining along similar lines, actually. Might be fun to talk sometime.

Thanks very much Sid. I'll consider all of that and hope to read a more detailed explanation of the links if you get time to do that.

In one of threads linked, Daniel says as a response
"for whatever obsessive quirk must wrangle the theory to death before they begin strong practice, which 2 hours a day is unlikely to be, as for most it will simply be insufficient to get to stream entry, which is key."

I wonder how many hours a day would be required on average.
