If you view threads in the combination view, the top (which shows all the replies in tree form) looks really weird, e.g. here and here. this makes the rest of the page look pretty messed up, too, as the borders get all wonky. If you use the tree view, then the threads get really squished as they get more deeply nested. If you use the flat view it seems to not affect you.
Not sure if anyone notices but me... but to avoid the issue, when making a practice thread, try replying to your initial post, when starting a new chain of thought, instead of to the post you just made or the latest (bottom-most) post. This way deep nesting will be avoided... and it looks pretty, yay.
