Dear all,
As part of my PhD I'm interviewing people who have experienced changes in the sense of self due to meditation (either positively or negatively valenced) and I'm searching for participants. The study will take place online (1.5-2 h) and participants will be reimbursed 10€/h (international transfers are fine). If you have had these experiences or know people who have, I'd very much appreciate it if you would get in touch with me. I will contact them, though I wonder whether I make sense as a participant because I had permanent changes in sense of self before I started meditating and I am somewhat unsure how much afterwards was through meditation. Well, that's their job to figure out ;).

Same issue here, sort of. I had meditated on and off for many years prior to my permanent shift, but I wasn't meditating at the time around my shift and hadn't for a couple years at least, and I don't really feel like it contributed anything to it either. *shrugs*

I'm in the same boat as Benjamin and Nihila. It's not at all clear that the disappearance of the sense of self had anything to do with meditation. I'll send Erola my wee book and let her make up her own mind.

I'm in the same situation as Nihila and Benjamin. It's not entirely obvious how meditation has anything to do with the dissolution of the concept of self. I'll send Erola my little book and let her decide for herself.
