The Mahyanists have a word; bodhicitta, which literally means Heart of Awakening. When interacting with other people in this Dharma it is important to be charitable, one should share, give space, teach, understand and lead others here.

If one makes no space but rather attempts to push others down and in that way lift himself up he commits a grave offense. Although it might seem possible to "gain" Awakening (ha) "and have it benefit only oneself", this is not possible.

In the ensuing realizations that come from beginning this process the boundary between oneself and other people disappear, so do any judgments as to their person. You never meet a single bad person.

Then you know your task is to be liberal, share, and give. To lead people to the heart release which they ironically see in you, and want for themselves.

Everybody knows.

Therefore teach, give, be not stingy with your Dharmas!

Stinginess with regards to the Dharma is mean as hell.
