Noticing

Can someone explain the difference between noticing practice and bare attention? Are they the same? In noticing practice are you directing the mind toward sensations and bare attention you just know there there? Any resources would be helpful too on either practice. They seem the same to me hints the asking.

From my experience;

we talk practice here right? If so then holding bare attention is to me like half arsed mindfulness, glossing lightly over objects.

Noticing/noting is a powerful mindfulness, profoundly contacting objects.

This is subjective view of course and is not to be seen as generally saying one is good and the other less so. We all try to find what suits our personalities best.

To add;

both of those mentioned have their uses. Let's say in Equanimity stage the bare attention could work much better than noticing/noting.

in the dark night I feel noticing/noting kicks ass big time and coupled with acceptance helps plow through the objects.
