Don't.

If this is something you are considering - Seek help! Talk to someone! Get treatment!

I have been taught that one would end up in hell realm. Whether or not that is true is an empirical question, I suppose, although you might forget the question before you get the answer.

Also, we aren't separate entities. The people around you would suffer tremendously, and they are also you at some level. Maybe after death we can feel that? I don't know.

I hope this is a very hypothetical question.

Do you need someone to talk to?

I would say this, Robin Woods - it would be a great idea to qualify the reason and intent of your post. As you can see, we all think you're contemplating suicide, and desperately hoping you're not. If you are, please get help immediately. If your question was hypothetical or philosophical, something about rebirth and your path achievements perhaps, then it would be nice to know that's what you're interested in.

Thanks,

Chris

I strongly second Chris' strong recommendation to get help now if you are suicidal!

If not, definitely clarify that, as we have had community members kill themselves, so are on high alert for that sort of thing by default, and that spirit of wanting people to not die will obviously tend to supercede other discussions of a less urgent nature.

Thanks and best wishes!

There is a distinct possibility that you will have to reincarnate and face the same issues again.

Here is an excerpt from Lessons from the Light by Kenneth Ring and Evelyn Elsaesser which explains how knowledge of the afterlife deters suicide.

"As far as I know, the first clinician to make use of NDE material in this context was a New York psychologist named John McDonagh. In 1979, he presented a paper at a psychological convention that described his success with several suicidal patients using a device he called "NDE bibliotherapy." His "technique" was actually little more than having his patients read some relevant passages from Raymond Moody's book, Reflections on Life after Life, after which the therapist and his patient would discuss its implicatins for the latter's own situation. McDonagh reports that such an approach was generally quite successful not only in reducing suicidal thoughts but also in preventing the deed altogether.

...

Since McDonagh's pioneering efforts, other clinicians knowledgeable about the NDE who have had the opportunity to counsel suicidal patients have also reported similar success. Perhaps the most notable of these therapists is Bruce Greyson, a psychiatrist now at the University of Virginia, whose specialty as a clinician has been suicidology. He is also the author of a classic paper on NDEs and suicide which the specialist may wish to consult for tis therapeutic implications. (14)

Quite apart form the clinicians who have developed this form of what we migh call "NDE-assisted therapy," I can draw upon my own personal experience here to provide additional evidence of how the NDE has helped to deter suicide. The following case ..."

...

The following excerpt, from a description by Sandra Rogers of her near-death experience, shows that victims of suicide are greeted with love in the afterlife but also that suicide does not let them evade their problems.

"I came into the presence of a brilliant, wonderfully warm and loving Light. While I was in the presence of this Light I was shown a review of my life and all the events that brought me to that point....I was given the choice of remaining with the light, provided I return later to the physical world and experience all that brought me to the point of shooting myself, or I could return now and pick up my life where it was. I was told that I would eventually have the family and love I so desperately yearned for."

Apologies for the ambiguous and attention-seeking post - but it was a genuine question.

ive had a lifelong history of anxiety and depression. This was much improved upon getting second path. However, I then had a complete mental and physical breakdown caused by the stress of COVID- can't sleep, can't eat, shaking, shivering, vomiting.

the worst part is that I think my breakdown was worst because of my mis-perception(?) of non-duality: because I no longer felt like a secure organism bound by the skin - i think I freaked out so much because it felt like the contagion was already  'inside' 'me'. If that makes sense.

I now feel essentially like I'm in hell - I can't sleep, eat, or work. I'm about to lose my job and flat. I'm so depressed I can't think. No psychiatric medication has ANY effect on me anymore- apart from the sleeping pills I'm now addicted to. I'm scared to meditate even because of DN fears.

im terrified and don't know what to do

Robin Woods, what's going on in your life (addiction, anxiety, depression) is not going to be helped by posting here or practicing more, sorry to say. You need the immediate assistance of the medical/psychological variety. Please see someone like that as soon as possible.

Hurry!
