Unfortunately issues like these still happen.
Even if not asked for DhO teaches us about impermanence of thngs emoticon

I noticed when post window is open too much time then post can just disappear in the void.
If it is longer message it is best best to write post in text editor and only paste it to post. Best to source view which is available in "Advanced Reply".
