Can anyone recommend a psychologist with a background in meditation who understands the paths etc.

I have a lot of issues to work through, some related to meditation (like extreme life overwhelming hypochondria) to lots of pre-vipassana trauma.

I just realized that it doesn't matter if they are here in Los Angeles being that I would be doing remote sessions anyway. Oh, and hopefully someone who takes insurance.

Not an exact match, but the closest I can think of to those requirements is Tara Springett in England.

Tucker Peck is one.  If you couldn't get on his list maybe he could also recommend others.
